Auburn Community Cancer Endowment Fund

A Community Effort to fight Cancer

WE MADE IT!!!  It was a wonderful evening on December 3 celebrating meeting Virgil's $3M Goal.  This includes bequests to the fund along with the UC Davis Foundation Auburn Endowed Chair for Basic Science.

The Auburn Community Cancer Endowment Fund (ACCEF) was founded in 2001 by a group of concerned Auburn Area Citizens who wanted to make a difference in the fight against cancer.  UC Davis Cancer Center was chosen as the partner they would work with.  After many fundraisers including dinners, golf tournaments, fun runs, 24 hour mountain bike races, the goal of $1.5M was met in 2007.  The ACCEF funds a basic science chair at UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center.  We continue to grow the fund in order to make a bigger difference in "the fight".

Our goal is and will continue to be to advance cancer research by providing a conduit for donations from the private and business sectors of Auburn and the surrounding areas.  Please join us at one of our fundraisers or donate online to support ACCEF.

$3 Million Goal!!!

Introducing Dr. John McPherson, UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center's newest staff member who holds the Auburn Community Cancer Endowed Chair in Basic Science.  McPherson will lead the cancer center's growing human genomics research efforts with an eye toward improving access for cancer patients to precision medicines that target specific gene mutations responsible for tumor growth.
