A Community That Cares

Candidate Vince Smith

The Auburn Community Cancer Endowment Fund (ACCEF) was founded in 2001 by a group of concerned Auburn Citizens who wanted to make a difference in the fight against cancer. After careful consideration and lots of hard work, they chose UC Davis Cancer Center as the beneficiary.  Today, the fund is over $2.0M and funds a basic science research chair.  ACCEF's goal is to advance cancer research by providing a conduit for donations from the private and business sectors of Auburn and surrounding area.  UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center is now one of only 41 centers in the United States with the designation "Comprehensive".  Their state-of-the-art research center is a front runner in cancer research.  Our small community plays a large role in their success by believing in them while they were still young.
